San Juan County is one of the few in the nation that while Republicans reliably win it, Democrats enjoy a geographic advantage. The Navajo in the southern part of the county are reliably Democratic, but the Republicans live in the more dense towns in the center and northern ends of the county, which helped Trump to secure a 13-point win in 2020

UT HD 37 is a majority Hispanic seat that has trended towards Democrats in recent years. Biden won it by just over 7 points, doing uniformly well in the district's 3 cities of Kearns, West Jordan, and Taylorsville. The seat will be competitive in 2022, but could be saved for Democrats due to their incumbency advantage
