Kings County consists of Brooklyn in New York City. Biden won it by 55 points, but there were a handful of areas where he didn't perform at par. Bensonhurst in particular is a hub for Orthodox Jews, who typically vote more conservatively than other Jewish denominations. The county/borough is also heavily minority populousÂ
Oneida County NY is home to Rome and Utica, and is home to a few colleges and universities. While it has swung to the left, Trump still won it by almost 16 points. The cities of Utica and Kirkland provided Biden with the largest concentrations of his votes. For a Democrat to win the county, they would likely need to win the southern half of the county, as well as Rome
Richmond County is synonomous with Staten Island, which is the most conservative borough in New York City. While Biden won the state in a landslide, Trump won Staten Island by 15 points. Dems posted more solid margins in the north of the county where the population is more racially diverse, but lost the southern half of the county by a landslide
Suffolk County takes up the majority of Long Island, and was the largest county that Trump won in 2020. Despite the significance of this win, he only actually carried the county by 232 votes. Biden did best in the Hamptons to the east, and more minority-heavy communities to the west, with Trump winning the suburbs and affluent areas in the middle
